Nepali Language Resource Center, NLRC, is committed to protecting our users' privacy. This section provides an overview on what information we may collect and how we use it.
Information we get from our users' use of the site is non-personally identifying information, such as browser type, approximate location, etc. We may collect this non-personally identifying information in order to improve our services and to provide a better user experience. We use Google Analytics as a third party tracking service to collect such non-personally identifying information. Please visit Google Analytics site for more information; Google also provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, which is available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
We do not disclose our users' information outside of NLRC.
Third party cookies and ads
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings
Information users provide to us directly
The site offers an option to sign up on our website in order to provide a better user experience to our users. When users sign up, we collect their email address. Their email address is not shared with other users. The users can set their profile to limit their information visible to other users, e.g., they can choose to display their Display Name rather than their real name.
The site also offers an option to users to provide comments on our various services. If their comments contain information that benefit other users or if they provide feedback about our efforts, we may edit and publish them on our website. If we publish them, we do not include email addresses. If users have provided a Display Name, we will use their Display Name instead of their real name. If the users state not to have their comments published, we do not publish them.
We use authentication providers for authentication to our services, e.g., users can use their Google account to log in. This allows us to delegate the responsibility of maintaining and securing user passwords to the respective authentication providers.
Log in using GoogleContents
What does "Log in using Google" mean?
You can just click the "Log in using Google" link and you'll be logged in with one click.
If you're not logged in to Google already, you'll be taken to Google to log in. Google will then send you back to NLRC, letting us know that you're someone Google recognizes.
Can NLRC see my Google password?
NLRC will never see your Google password.
We will never ask you to enter your Google password on the NLRC website. You will always be sent to Google's website to enter your password and then sent back to NLRC.
How does "Log in using Google" work?
The first time you click the "Log in using Google" link, you’ll be sent to a Google page. You'll be asked for permission to let NLRC use your account as a way to log in. Once you've agreed to this, you'll be sent back to NLRC.
When this is done, you can log in to NLRC instantly whenever you're already logged in to Google.
Can I revoke this permission later?
Yes. The login process doesn't let us access any more information than you have given permission for, and you can revoke this permission any time from your Google account.
The things you do on NLRC will not appear on your Google account. You can still share or post things yourself if you choose.
Can I log in with other Login Providers other than Google?
We plan to add other Login Providers. We will consider other Login Providers very carefully before adding them.
